Question by Destiny P: How to finalize CD-RW on windows 7?
I am trying to put some files on a CD-RW for a update on my dad’s DVD player. The directions say to use a CD-RW, and that it has to be finalized. I can not for the life of me find anywhere to finalize the cd. It used to pop up saying it did it automatically, and now it’s not! Please help!? Thanks
Yeah, tried it before, there’s no option! It’s weird, it’s gone

Best answer:

Answer by Charlie Tuna
With the CD-RW in the drive, right click on the CD icon, it should have the Finalize option available.

or
1. Open Computer by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, and then clicking Computer.
2. In Windows Explorer, click the disc burner drive, and then click Close session on the toolbar.
The session will be closed

Update: If the options are not available, then the session is already closed. You should not be able to add to the CD-RW once the session is closed.

Just a brief explanation…this is my version of a Bloc Party single cover from the album Weekend in the City. Their single covers were all of the same striking design, a night time photo with an overwhelming shade of colour (yellow, red, green) surrounded by two black bars and white text. See my comments below for an example of one. Also many were "city shots" with traffic or the like. I think in the long run, mine looks like a nice fit with what their designer did. I’m very happy with it.

What inspired it?!

Well last October I travelled to New York to see Bloc Party. Pretty much a second favorite when it comes to recordings. I’m in love with them and I’m not afraid to admit that. And seeing them live didn’t change that. Now I just finished making arrangements to see them again in New York. YES! Two shows in August. And I couldn’t be happier. I’m seeing Bloc Party again.

Finalized all of my plans yesterday to get to New York for the shows.

And last night i got the phone call. My friend…

"Bloc Party is Coming to Halifax in September".

HOLY F*$K! At first I didn’t believe it. I went to the net and looked it up in three locations before I could believe it. Bloc Party is doing a Canadian tour, and hitting some odd choices. The city I complain rarely ever gets a good show?! At least something that isn’t Canadian?! My 2nd faves are coming to town. They are playing a small bar here that holds about 500. I’m going to see these guys up close and intimate.

And it’s not like they are doing an exhaustive tour. Five cities. None of them major markets…and I might be able to make it to two of the shows…

All of a sudden I’m looking forward to a Weekend in THIS City rather than travelling to another to take in a concert. My tickets were purchased through the fan club this morning. My friends and I are seeing Bloc Party live. I get to share this with friends who would never travel to go to a show with me. I’m honestly doing cartwheels. I’m not sure anything could top this news when it comes to concerts for me. At least not this year…

Bloc Party in Halifax. Someone pinch me. I think I’m still in a dream.

13/365 – a good day
I went into NYC again today to meet up with Alex and Maya. Maya was just back from apartment hunting in Mountain View and Alex was just back from his semester abroad in Paris. We used the overlap to rendezvous for lunch. Lunch was very tasty (Hummus Place on 7th and Bleecker) and dessert was, of course, at Pinkberry. Fun times, as always!

On the train ride back I got an email from one of the News Editors about a great opportunity that we’re sort of last-minute-planning (as usual…again) so I get to stay home for another few days instead of going back to Ithaca tomorrow morning. Yay! More on that when it’s a bit more finalized.

I tried some new stuff on this one in my attempts to learn to tone a photo without making it look like I dipped it in a bath of cyan. I think it turned out pretty well?

oh, right, and this accomplishes #22 in my 101 in 365!

For "Riverside Rancho", world class, dynamic, positive leadership has paid off. Just look at the values of homes that a year ago were at least 0k more in value. Downward and spiraling! The answer?Rancho Cordovans just aren’t civicly responsible enough. We need to be trained to be better citizens, better Americans.

Perhaps we should look to the largest landholder in Rancho Cordova, the owner who ranks in the top 10 of property tax payers in Sacramento County, Aerojet/Gencorp, for leadership and as an example of how to be a "good neighbor" and maintain your community’s property values. With their impeccable example of civic responsibility and stewardship, Rancho can’t loose……………..

.5 MILLION PAYMENT WOULD ADD TO DISTRICT’S DEEPENING BUDGET WOES

–Faced with a ruling to refund Aerojet nearly .5 million in overpaid taxes, the Sacramento County Fire Protection District is considering ways to lessen the financial pain. The district board has been looking at options, including possible litigation, but hasn’t reached a decision on a course of action, said Fire Chief James Emerson.

Emerson said the district has until January to appeal an agreement reached by the county Assessment Appeals Board last month. The board ruled that the county and the city of Sacramento, along with several other governmental agencies including the fire district, must refund .3 million in overpaid property taxes to Aerojet and Campbell Soup Co.

Aerojet will get a refund of .5 million in overpaid taxes, including interest, dating back to 1988. The company appealed a county tax assessment on its 9,500-acre property off U.S. 50, arguing that the site is contaminated by toxics and is worth far less than its appraised value.(Who the f&*K polluted it?!!!!)

In addition to having to refund .5 million in back taxes, the fire district no longer will receive several hundred thousand dollars in annual revenue from Aerojet. Emerson said the district will continue to lose revenue until Aerojet cleans up the property and it is reassessed.

Emerson said the fire district has until the end of September to finalize its 1996-97 budget. He said the district knew a decision on the tax refund "was looming out there. We were hoping for a much lower amount."

Privately, some officials with the government agencies affected have complained that the Aerojet refund is unfair because Aerojet ruined its property with toxics. But Aerojet has argued that the land is not worth what it once was, in large part due to declining property values throughout Sacramento.

"In all honesty, I don’t think we should have to pay them," Emerson said this week.

The appeal board’s decision adds to the fire district’s mounting financial problems. Over the past few years the district, which serves Fair Oaks, Orangevale, Citrus Heights, Rancho Cordova, and North Highlands, has lost several million dollars in revenue, including county augmentation funds and a reduction in property tax revenue

Answer by Auntie Mame
Perhaps you have not set the name of the DVD disk or have not selected a startup menu option for the disk. Go thru the other menu items and check these.

Best answer:

Answer by phillip b
your computer program has to finalize the disc or it won’t work on anything, this is ussually done automatically.

I made a disc of music videos from MTV on my computer, my expensive sony dvd player won’t play it, My wal-mart dvd in the bedroom does, also ps2 and ps3 seems to play it fine.

The key to form completion is to reduce workload’s feeling and help users focus on their ultimate goal: finalizing the purchase.

Eye-tracking studies show that users only focus their attention on a small part of a screen. Cluttered & long pages during the check-out process can create overload perception.

Digital River’s template is asking to complete 16 fields on the 1st page. Why not make it more friendly & just ask the email? FYI, remarketing to abandoners yields up to 50% conversion of those who abandoned.

The San Antonio Spurs have finalized a new contract with forward Matt Bonner. The Spurs announced the deal Tuesday, a day after signing Brazilian center Tiago Splitter, their 2007 first-round draft pick. The two are the only signings San Antonio has made so far this offseason. Bonner became a free agent this summer after four seasons with the Spurs.

Question by courtney lynn: finalize cd????????
Im making a cd and it has options and the options are
1. finalize session but not cd
2. Finalize cd

I dont know what that means but i want to be able to listen to the cd in my car and last time i tried making a cd it didnt turn out too well so plz help thx.

Best answer:

Answer by breezer
If you finalize the CD you will not be able to write anything else to it in the future. Some car stereo’s do not do well with burnt CD’s for some reason-maybe try burning is at a slower speed than prior times and see if that helps.
